Dance Teacher at Step by Step Dance Studio
Receives Annual Award from National Arts Education Organization
After working with dance teacher Ronda Barber from Step by Step Dance Studio in Cornwall-on-Hudson, for many years and seeing her ongoing dedication to the performing arts, coupled with her outstanding and unique choreography, Performing Arts Educators has selected Mrs. Barber to be the recipient of the 2015 Del Kieffner Award. This annual award is given by Performing Arts Educators in recognition of the person who represents the attributes desirable in all youth performing arts directors whether it be of instrumental, choral or dance.
Performing Arts Educators (PAE) is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit which works to strengthen youth performing arts groups by uniting them to access world class venues which would be beyond reach of the individual groups. PAE produces annual Invitationals in Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall, is inaugurating a new series in The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, and takes large numbers of young performers to the Summer Olympics and International Summer Stage tours annually.
Ronda- because of her ongoing commitment to student growth, her professional decorum in any situation, onstage or offstage, truly serves as a role model to all those who teach the performing arts. Striving always to obtain the highest possible presentation standards while communicating the joy of performing is professionalism at its best. Students will use these lessons for the rest of their lives.
As a recipient of the Del Kieffner Award, Ronda Barber joins a select ensemble of people who have positively shaped and influenced the lives of the students they’ve taught.
Officials from Performing Arts Educators will present the award to Mrs. Barber at PAE’s upcoming 9th Annual Invitational at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City on March 21st, 2015.
